Welcome, chess buffs! Ashburn Chess Club offers a friendly comfortable venue year-round for chess meetups near Dulles International Airport in the western suburbs of Washington, DC. It is to continue, as it always has under the former organizer Herky del Mundo, for all ages and levels, from beginning chess players to Grandmasters.

Our regular weekly chess club meetings for over-the-board chess, with or without clocks (blitz, rapid, skittles, etc.) are held evenings as announced at Wegmans, 45131 Columbia Place, Sterling, VA 20166, on the store's 2nd floor mezzanine above the Market Cafe and Patisserie.

Please RSVP if you can, which makes it easier for the host/s to prepare for the expected attendance size. Players attending should bring a chess set and/or clock if they own one. Everyone is welcome to walk in and play or just watch the chess games. We ask that parent/s accompany minor children attending.

We may also hold weekend tournaments, lectures, and simultaneous exhibitions from time to time. Watch for email updates!
