WHO WE ARE: Asian Connect is an exclusive group for young, active Asian professionals to meet and network in social settings. Networking is a critical part of the success of young professionals in today's business world and the goal of this group is to facilitate this amongst Asian professionals.

Our events are held largely in venues that offer a healthy alternative to the bar scene, like restaurants and cafes. In addition, we may have other activities like potlucks, movie nights, festivals, shows, sports activities, trips and anything else our active members would enjoy.

EVENT SEATING AND NUMBERS: Because many of our events are held in restaurants, they will generally be limited to 6 - 8 people, and in as much as possible the events will be gender-balanced, i.e. equal numbers of men and women. So for example, if there are 8 seats available and 4 women have already signed up, then the 4 remaining spaces are open to men only and vice versa. A wait list will be available in the event someone drops out and will be filled on a first-come-first-served basis or in the order of signups.

THE OBLIGATORY 'NO FLAKES' CLAUSE: We are all busy professionals and because of the limited seating for our events, it is only fair to others that when you rsvp for an event, you are committing to attend and to be on time. You should plan to attend as you would when making a dinner appointment with good friends.

If your plans change, you should change your rsvp as soon as possible, but not later than 48 hours from the meetup start time, in order to give others a chance to attend. 'No shows' will be recorded if you drop out with less than 48 hours notice or no notice at all. Also, your reservations for subsequent events may be subject to change by event hosts in order to give seating priority to other members and minimize empty chairs.
