4 days weekend trip to San Francisco and Napa Valley

Personal Bias - I like to leave early Saturday morning. Less traffic and save one day's lodging cost. Also, want to avoid traffic by coming back on Tuesday (avoid Memorial Holiday traffic).

Who: 4 participants
When: Memorial Weekend
Cost: $50/round trip transportation cost & $75/per night lodging cost (Subject to adjustment)

Drivers: Jay (Leaving Sat morning from ktwon)

Napa Cards(2 for 1 winery card): Joo Hong Kim, Jay

Plan to stay 4 stars hotel in SF and Sacramento or Napa Valley. We will stay nice hotel and 2 people per room and each person has his/her own bed. Hilton or comparable hotel in SF.

This is tentative schedule
Visit SF - Golden Gate Park, Fisherman's Wharf, Harbor Cruise?
Napa Valley and Sonama County - several winery, including Mondavi, Beringer
Sacramento, Santa Barbara and Hearst Castle - we may stop by.

Schedule is currently tentative. Depending on demand, I'll firm up the schedule in next week or so.

In his heart a man plans his course,
But the LORD determines his steps.
    Proverb 16:9 (NIV translation)

What a strange turn of events in this trip. Though very enjoyable trip, the process of getting people together was a quite painful. Yes, no matter how I plan it, the outcome was determined by the GOD.

Luckily, we found our 4 people for this trip. Know that, next time I will collect the money in advance of booking non-refundable hotel.

Just booked Hilton Hotel, SF for $85/person. The discount was not as much as I hoped for due to travlling during holiday season.

I found a deal for wine tasting in Napa Valley. More information will be sent by email. For $25 a person, we can go to 14 wineries in Napa Valley for wine tasting. Considering single tastings can cost upward of $15 a piece, this deal is pretty good. Some wineries include the following
    • Peju Winery
    • Girard Winery
    • Cuvaison Winery
    • Chimney Rock
    • Beaulieu Vineyard

You are more than welcome to join us for shorter events until we get a chance to personally meet you. But I concur with Joo Hong about taking trips with only good people that we consider friends.

Hi Joo, Roxy said she already e-mailed you, but I'm just confirming that I'll be carpooling up with her on Friday and back down to LA on Monday...she doesn't know this yet, but we'll survive Memorial Day traffic by singing Disney songs. We've got our Friday night lodging booked, but not Saturday and Sunday night when everybody is finally together. :) If it makes it any easier, I don't mind not having a bed...as long as there's a little floor space I can knock out easily in my sleeping bag. And thanks so much for planning, I'm looking forward to a trip with some great folks.

Good to know, Joo, but I see that you don't allow anymore sign-up. Btw, do I need to purchase the wine tasting card you guys discussed some times ago?

Looks like a good size grp 6 ppl. I'll be driving up Friday night if anyone wants to sit in my car. Who else is driving? Have we gotten the hotels etc? I will have a couple of ideas thrown out there later on (ie places to eat/walk) and see where the consensus is for the group.

    February 14, 2013

    • Jay

You may need a cross country road trip for that. lol

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
