Details
This one-day course will help you develop your assertiveness skills and is designed to help you, well, speak up!

It will help you improve your ability to:
use your body language and voice effectively
receive criticism creatively
give criticism productively
give and receive compliments in spite of fears of embarrassment
put requests to people in a way that they can hear them
handle requests that you are not keen on
negotiate
handle a put-down
handle stressful or ‘awkward’ moments
Please see my website www.confidence-building.net (http://www.confidence-building.net/) for a lot more information.
That's a lot of material! So, some of the above points will be covered more intensively than others, depending on the needs of the group.
You will have a say in what we cover, but we will definitely cover requests and criticism.
Course Method
This is more about doing things rather than sitting listening to the trainer talking to you. So there will be:
experiential exercises: interacting with other course members (which is usually fun!)
watching video clips
listening to audio clips
group discussion
groupwork
''Stand upright, speak thy thoughts, declare The truth thou hast, that all may share; Be bold, proclaim it everywhere: They only live who dare.''
Voltaire

Details
Times: 10.30am – 5.00pm
Date: Saturday 30th November 2013
Venue: Oakwood House, Office 6, 637 Roundhay Rd, Oakwood, Leeds LS8 4BA
Cost:
£65 if you are paying for your place out of your own funds.
£85 if your own business or your employer is paying for your place.
Group size
There will be 4-8 participants. I think it's important to keep the size of the group small, for two reasons:
so that people feel comfortable enough to participate in the group exercises, which are designed to encourage 'trying on' (i.e. experimenting with) new and useful ways of behaviour, and
so that each course participant gets individual attention over the course of the day (it's no good if you get lost in the crowd).
Booking
If you book for this please send me your private email address (which I would not pass on to others) so that I can send you an invoice. I will ask you to send me a cheque or do a bank transfer for the course fee.
Please see my website www.confidence-building.net (http://www.confidence-building.net/) for a lot more information.
