The Association of Women in Computing Northern NJ Chapter has space at this Fall 2014 Workshop offered at a location in the Parsippany/Morris County area. This workshop includes a pizza dinner served between 6 - 6:45 PM. Non-members as well as members can be accommodated. AWC-NNJ offers workshops at no cost to members and at a small cost to non-members. There is still time to join for the 2014 – 2015 membership year and attend this workshop for only the cost of the Pizza dinner by paying your $50.00 dues before Workshop #2. Directions will be provided once your reservation is confirmed.
If you would like to attend this workshop as a non-member, you are welcome as long as there is space available - the fee is $15.00 plus a $5.00 charge for pizza and beverages.
WORKSHOP #2 DESCRIPTION - “How to Get the Most out of LinkedIn”
Would you like to improve your professional “appearance”? Let our resident career coach, Linda Trignano, help give you fresh ideas on how to update your LinkedIn profile and present you in a different light. In keeping with AWC NNJ’s theme of “Stay in Front”, Linda has plenty of new ideas on how to better showcase you on LinkedIn, and let different aspects of your IT talents and skills shine. Amazing what small changes can do! Linda will help a number of participants spin their professional experience and background with targeted LinkedIn Profile makeovers. In this 2 hour workshop, learn from hands-on actual LinkedIn makeover cases with real IT professionals. We all know social media is taking a larger role in career planning; let Linda’s expertise help you maximize your effective use of it! This "hands-on" workshop will provide you with immediate, actionable tips on how to advance your career through LinkedIn. Both novice and intermediate users of LinkedIn will have an opportunity to better:
• Understand the value of online networking
• Improve your profile to help people find you, including an attention grabbing headline
• Know how and where to add keywords that enable your profile to be "found" by others
• Develop strategies to extend your network
• Learn the process and value of joining LinkedIn groups in your area of expertise from other attendees.
• Maximize your overall marketing plan and improve your chance of finding the perfect position
• Better manage your time spent on LinkedIn Put Linda’s insightful suggestions to work for you to increase connections, profile views and searches.
