Pizza Social Night

We decided to skip the formal presentation this week and just focus on a night of socializing. Come on down to the Oakmead Round Table and have some pizza with your fellow atheists and talk about - whatever!

We figured it might be too early in the week for a pub crawl, but I wouldn't be surprised if we eventually wondered across the street to the Fault Line Brewery. See you there!

Half priced ACSJ tees available for this event! (one day only) - and you never know what else we might have in store for you! Don't miss it!

At the PSN, I recommended to Sam the brilliant book Doubt, by Jennifer Michael Hecht. Here is a nonworking link to the Wikipedia entry about that book.

Wow! I officially declare "Pizza Social Night" a rousing success. It was great socializing with everyone. Good meeting first timers Joe, Fady, and Sam ... hope to see you guys at future events. And, thanks to the ACSJ for buying the pizza.

Due to the nature of the deposit on the room, please do not order food when you arrive. Just indicate in a reply here what kind of pizza you like and we can work something out with sharing costs. Thanks!

I am normally not an advocate for capital punishment, but I could consider it for pineapple on pizza.

Ugh, gonna have to cancel. Was looking forward to this and don't want anyone to think it was because there won't be a stand and introduce phase, just got personal issues I have to deal with.

A relative of mine loved pizza with clams and eggplant on it. Mysteriously, he never had to share.

Not sure if the husband and I can make it after all. First, because we're still moving. Second, because I can't eat wheat, and they're only non-wheat item is just green salad. We may eat first and then join - but depends on how the move is going by tomorrow night

A friend just told me about that game. I really want to try it. Alas, I am not going to make this event. I am leaving early Thursday morning for a trip to New York and I am really bummed but I've got to prepare and pack and get some sleep. :( see you all then!

Pretty sure I'll be there would like to suggest we have a stand and introduce yourself section for this event otherwise people tend to section off into groups of people they already know and it's not as social as it might be. Just a thought and yes, I'm willing to go first...

We used to do this in the past, but as the group has grown we ended up spending over an hour with just introductions (people don't know how to be brief no matter what you do) - So I would suggest that as we mingle at various tables, you make a conscious effort to bounce around and talk to as many people as possible. I appreciate the spirit of the idea, but logistically it takes away from the social aspect.

Or people can just loudly enter the room, like, "Hey Everyone! It's me, LYN! I love horror movies!" LOL. Since I already mentioned one of my interests, maybe others would like to add one of theirs? That way we are prepped to mingle tomorrow. :)
