Welcome to Rhode Island Atheist Society. We are a growing group of atheists, agnostics, skeptics and freethinkers who feel that religion has too much power in today’s society. We support the separation of church and state and feel that not enough is being done to ensure that wall between them stays strong. The Catholic Church, among other institutions, has a tremendous amount of power over the laws in Rhode Island. The non-believers of this state have no such advocate. We would like to change that.

Rhode Island Atheist Society is a 501c3 Non Profit Organization

We have also formed an official organization the "Rhode Island Atheist Society". http://riatheist.com/ and podcast http://www.freethoughtri.com

Whether you want to be a strong activist or simply come and chat, please join our group.

We will be collecting non-perishable food to be donated to the RI Community Food Bank. With the upcoming holiday season approching the RI Food Bank needs as much help as they can get. So please help us help them. Last year RIAS members donated 80lbs of food, this year we hope to double that.

Meet-up with other local atheists for some food, drink and great disucssion. We meet in the Function Room in the back of the restaurant.

“I believe religious thought is dangerous and corrosive to the public good, and requires that we embark on a multi-generational effort to banish myth and superstition to the scrapheap of history.”

“I am looking to have intelligent discussions with others who have a similar worldview as I and hopefully some new friendships can be made. I am also very interested in becoming more active in my comunity through an organization I believe in.”
