Hiking Day at Arcadia Park

Paul had a good idea, we can meet at Breakheart Pond and hike around it.
Get to route 165 in Rhode Island, then go north on Frosty Hollow Road
(dirt road, small church on the corner), then turn right at the
intersection with the sign. After that there is a fork in the road, go
left. There is a parking lot at the south end of the pond next to the
waterfall.

There are plenty of other great places to walk. Norman Bird Sanctuary in Newport, Roger Williams State Park has some trails - the one around the pond takes about an hour to walk. Blackstone Blvd in Providence is a good three mile walk up and down it. Swanpoint Cemetary is lovely this time of year. If not for this walk then for future ones?

Rich is right. Ya gotta wear at least 200 sq inches of bright orange per state law for conservation areas:

I think deer season starts by that time and if I'm not mistaken, deer hunting is allowed in this area. That should be checked on. This is a really nice trail, I've done it several times.
