Re: [dotnet-134] ATL ALT.NET: Call for volunteers: Local area organizers

I would be happy to organize a Kennesaw area meetup, and probably the Town Center Mall exit would be the most convenient for this area.

Sincerely,

Michael Urvan

Hello everyone,

I hope you are doing well. We have almost 100 members in this group now! Thanks to all of you for your continued interest and participation in this meetup. I know that downtown Atlanta is not always the most convenient place for people to meet. So, this year I want to expand the reach of this group so that more people can get "plugged in".

2009 Goal
I want this meetup to be seen more as a "shared calendar" for .NET devs. So, while we'll continue to have a monthly, topical event, I want to encourage all who are interested to serve as co-organizers to bring devs together in your own local part of Atlanta.

Call for Volunteers
As mentioned, I'm looking for co-organizers for this group. If you are interested, the responsibilities are not many:

1) Once yo get marked as "Co-Organizer" and will have the ability to schedule events on the calendar.
2) You agree to help organize some less formal (not like our monthly meetup is formal anyway), but more frequent social gatherings in your local area.
3) Any other responsibility you'd like to claim for yourself

Example:

I'm starting a new job in the Dunwoody area this week just off of exit 5, and one thing I'll be doing is scheduling a weekly lunch in the area for .NET folks who work in that area to get together. No topic, no agenda, just food and fellowship. We are .NET devs and we have plenty to say, so there will be no shortage of topics to arise.

So, if you're interested to lead the Smyrna wing, the Norcross wing, the Kennesaw wing, the Duluth wing, or wherever, just let me know.

Take care,
Josh
