We will coordinate a carpool to facility. Carpool time is 11:00am.
Tellus is a world-class 120,000 square foot museum located in Cartersville, GA just off I-75 at exit 293. The museum’s exhibits open minds and ignite a passion for science. Tellus features the Observatory with a 20″ telescope perfect for viewing the Moon and planets ,The Weinman Mineral Gallery, The Fossil Gallery, Science in Motion and The Collins Family My Big Backyard. Eye-popping exhibits like an 80 foot-long Apatosaurus and a replica Wright flyer excite and amaze visitors of all ages. Children will also have a blast conducting hands-on experiments with light, sound, magnets and more. Dazzling gems and minerals sparkle and glow alongside interactive exhibits demonstrating how the Earth moves and changes.

There is also a 120-seat digital planetarium and an observatory with a state-of-the-art 20-inch telescope is also located at Tellus . Planetarium schedule is below. Admission covers only one planetarium show. 1:00 PM To Space and Back or 1:45 PM Molecularium
Then we will head to Piedmont Park area for Group Intelligence: A mass mp3 experience
Part theater, part flash mob, Group Intelligence explores how human actions mimic molecular behavior. Participants download an MP3 track, gather in Piedmont Park, press play at the same time and go on an epic adventure. Collaboratively developed by Out of Hand and scientists from Georgia Tech and Emory University, this interactive experience weaves science into a fun participatory event.
