Saturday, August 15, 9:30 AM - 3 PM (end time is approximate)

2 hour drive from Atlanta to the Cohutta Wilderness near Chatsworth, GA (detailed directions provided upon reservation completion)

We're proud to offer this very special collaboration between Keeping It Wild and the U.S. Forest Service (USFS). We're pairing up to offer you the chance to experience firsthand the awesome richness of the sparkling Conasauga River.

USFS volunteers will be our guide while we snorkel a ¼-mile stretch of the river, where up to 45 species of fish have been documented. USFS will provide equipment including wetsuits, snorkel and masks. Plus, we'll have special viewing tubes available that allow you see underwater without going under - great for children! You are welcome to bring your own snorkel mask and mouth piece if you prefer. years old and accompanied by a supervising adult at all times.

Please keep in mind that due to the sensitive nature of the river fins/flippers, swimming and splashing are not permitted.

There will be two session (one before noon and another after lunch)

Rain or Shine. This event will only cancel (or at least pause for a time) if there are thunderstorms in the area.

Outing Rating:

Easy & family friendly, however the water is deep in places, children or weak swimmers will need a life jacket (not provided). Water wings are not recommended.

What you will need to bring:

Swim suit, sunscreen, water shoes (not flip flops), light hiking shoes, towel and life jacket (if needed), small cooler, insect repellent, rain gear, lunch, water, snacks and something to sit upon (we will be out all day). In addition, you will need a change of clothes for the ride home. A private changing area will be provided.

Medical Alert: If you are allergic to bees or wasps please bring your meds.

Refund Policy: No refunds after July 26, 2015, as we must forward payment to the U.S. Forest Service. You are welcome to send someone in your place.

Pet Policy: For the comfort of all, thank you for not bringing your pets on Keeping It Wild outings.

Family Safe Policy: Outings are a smoke, alcohol, and drug free setting, thanks.
