Franklin toured with Freddie Hubbard (http://www.allmusic.com/artist/freddie-hubbard-mn0000798326),Marlena Shaw (http://www.allmusic.com/artist/marlena-shaw-mn0000847756)and Bill Summers (http://www.allmusic.com/artist/bill-summers-mn0000765991). His debut album In the Center (http://www.allmusic.com/album/in-the-center-mw0000864811)appeared on Columbia Records. Two years later,Franklin (http://www.allmusic.com/artist/franklin-mn0000294144)hit the Top Ten with "The Groove," from You'll Never Know (http://www.allmusic.com/album/youll-never-know-mw0000841279). The next six years brought seven more albums from Columbia; none were as successful as You'll Never Know (http://www.allmusic.com/album/youll-never-know-mw0000841279), but Franklin (http://www.allmusic.com/artist/franklin-mn0000294144)continued to build his reputation as a respected fusion artist. He moved to BMG for Diamond Inside of You (http://www.allmusic.com/album/diamond-inside-of-you-mw0000195685)and has also released Love Dancin (http://www.allmusic.com/album/love-dancin-mw0000242964)for Nova.
