"UI & UX of Mobile Onboarding" and "Design Processes for Developing Mobile"

This month we're excited to have 2 presentations on mobile app UI & UX. We'll have food and beverages courtesy of this month's sponsor, TEKsystems.

UI & UX of Mobile Onboarding

The UI & UX around on-boarding new users into your mobile app is a key element to retain users for your mobile app. In this session, we'll walk through the key design issue for building a great on-boarding UI. Examples of taking different paths and presenting the user with a clean, intuitive UI will be shown and explained.

Presenter:

iamjamesmartin™ is a southern-based designer stationed in Atlanta, GA. He is a maker, drinker & eater of things.James feeds off the creativity of the south and focuses on projects that allow him to eat burgers, have suppers with twelve people, enjoy a little brunch, sip coffee, spotlight creative folks in the south, speak like a local while traveling abroad, make films, and work on great initiatives for others as an independent designer.

Design Processes for Developing Mobile

Roger will provide an overview of UX and design processes for developing mobile apps from concept to final designs. Get practical examples on how you can design your apps and icons quickly and easily, and get tips on how to handle the variety of devices in the market. We will largely focus on iOS and Android, but what you learn will carry over to other platforms as well.

Presenter:

Roger Peters is an independent mobile consultant and developer and runs his own personal mobile consultancy - All Mobile Everything. Roger (aka @SmartyP) has been creating digital experiences for nearly 20 years, and has created mobile apps and games across various mobile platforms including iOS, Android, Windows Phone, and Windows 8. Roger has been blogging on app and game development at SmartyPantsCoding.com since 2008. His primary interests surround creating engaging user experiences, casual gaming, and all things mobile and tablet related.

Very disappointed I had to miss this at the last minute. I hope there will be another UI/UX related discussion scheduled.
