What’s new in ASP.NET 5

Our speaker for January is Jared Rhodes. Jared is a Senior Consultant with Magenic Technologies and focuses primarily on Microsoft web technologies.

What’s new in ASP.NET 5 covers the new features of ASP.NET 5 including but not limited to Visual Studio 2013 developer tools, Scaffolding, SignalR, MVC 5, Authentication, Bootstrap, and Web Api 2. We will take a quick look at what each technology offers and how to implement it.

Come on out for this interesting presentation that will jump-start your understanding of the new .Net web stack (or maybe fill in a few gaps you've been struggling with). Also, we'll have some great give-aways from Telerik and Pluralsight, and of course pizza & drinks provided by Magenic.

For January I'd also like to start up a new monthly "Quick Bits" program. The idea behind Quick Bits is to give people an opportunity to talk [briefly] about a project they're working on and solicit help/comments from the group, or just to demo a new app they're working on and get feedback. The theme here is to provide a platform for you to share some cool bits and to get help from group with bits you may be struggling with.

Quick Bits will take place at the start of our program, before the main presentation. If you have something you'd like to share with the group for our January meeting, please drop me an email and I'll get you on the list.
