This month we have two presentations for you:
Michael Smith will present
Building a Chat App
Michael will demo small chat app using Bootstrap, Angular, Gravatar(for user icons) and Socket.io with a MongoDb backend. I'll also discuss Moment.js for date manipulation and the Bcrypt npm module for password encryption.
Michael's been developing software for the last 20 years mainly using Microsoft technologies with some unix projects here and there. He's veered off the Microsoft road for the last two years mainly doing enterprise web applications using Node and MongoDB.
Joseph DeCarlo will present
Git: Moving from Basic to Advanced
Git has become very prevalent in the industry and is not longer considered a niche Source Control Management System. Many devs however, either don't use or are not aware of some of it's more advanced features. Joe will cover some of the more advanced concepts in Git, how and when to you should use them.
Joseph has been developing software since the early 1990's and has been a Software Architect for over a decade. He is currently the Chief Architect at Mowgli, LLC.
Hope to see you all there!
