[Atlanta-Nodejs-Developers] Contract opportunity. And a Robotics Conference

From: Rick T.

Hello Atlanta Node.js,

Here are two notices that may be of interest to you, first is a
contract work opportunity, and second is an upcoming conference.

1) I offered to pass this along for recruiter Jeff Kolve. He mentioned
that the client is downtown and they are looking for up to 4
developers:

Jeff:

Our client is entering into the Hybrid Cloud market and developing the
future platform of the company. The role you will play is creating and
integrating the API’s that one day will be used externally by their
customers and partners. Currently, there is a new portal in creation
that will make calls to the new API, written in node.js, which in-turn
calls internal systems to collect customer information and then make
automated calls to provision servers, firewalls, and a few other
devices. The provisioning system will also install add-ons such as
monitoring or back up agents depending on what the customer has
ordered via the portal. It is a fast-paced project that will provide
you with valuable experience.
The project is slated for roughly 4 months, but can run longer.

2) Toby Ho asked me to help get the word out about a robtics conference:

Toby:

I am helping Chris Williams get the word about RobotsConf. Chris
organizes amazing conferences so this will be no different, I think it
would be a great experience for anyone who attends. If you think it's
appropriate, I'd like for you to post an announcement to the group.

Here's more info:

RobotsConf is a revolutionary technology event for software and web
developers to get an efficient and effective deep dive into the
exciting world of hardware development over December 6th and 7th,
2013. If you are a developer that is interested in the Maker Movement,
but unsure where to start -- this event is designed for you. We have
experts in programming hardware with your favorite language available.
We also have a wide range of incredible makers who are already
changing the world to show you how to make almost anything. Built
around hands-on sessions covering drones, 3D Printing,
microcontrollers, and the Internet of Things; this is the only two day
event that will take you from a software developer to a Maker.

The conference is a hybrid of visionary lectures, hands-on workshops,
and social events and competitionsunlike any other event thus far. If
that wasn't enough, it is happening on an incredible resort on Amelia
Island, Florida where it will be nice and warm in December. We would
like to invite you to join us at a discounted rate of $450 by
registering here.

Thanks, and Happy Programming,
Rick
