Historic Sears & Roebuck Building on Ponce De Leon

Details

Originally used by Sears & Roebuck Co. from 1926-1987, and the City of Atlanta as 'City Hall East' afterwards, this historic Atlanta landmark is currently undergoing a major facelift. Situated on the corner of Ponce De Leon Ave. and Glen Iris Dr., the Sears & Roebuck building is in the renovation stage as it transforms into the future Ponce City Market due to open in 2014. Come join us as we've been give a few hours to photograph this enormous space before all the wrinkles are removed. Although many of the integral parts of the building have already been renovated, there is still plenty to shoot in the way of graphic elements, textures, and light. Depending on construction going on that day, we will have access to 9 levels of the building, the parking deck, as well as staircases, an electrical room, and the rooftop. Each attending member will be required to sign a waiver of liability and wear a hard hat at all times during the meetup. For liability reasons, we have also been asked to stay together as a group and limit the attendance to 12 members. No guests or models please. There is onsite free parking. The parking deck entrance is located on Glen Iris Dr. For more information please visit www.poncecitymarket.com.

Please bring your cameras, tripod, remote triggers, and all lenses. Please wear comfortable shoes that protect your feet completely. Sneakers are recommended.

Attending members will receive an email with final details a few days before the meetup. As always, if you have any questions, you may reach me at dean@deanstevensonphotography.com.

Regards,
Dean
