The second-tallest all-hotel skyscraper in the Western Hemisphere, Atlanta's Westin Hotel at Peachtree Plaza is known for its cylindric shape, 73 floors, Sundial Restaurant, and of course, the movie 'Sharky's Machine' with Burt Reynolds...a classic!
Join us as we spend 3 1/2 hours photographing the incredible architecture and unique views of this landmark hotel. Lines, shapes, patterns, and light define the beauty of every inch of this space. We will have access to almost every aspect of the hotel including the exterior, entrances, lobby, open ballrooms, staircases, elevators, 5th-9th floors, 72 floor overlooking the city below, and Sundial restaurant at the very top.
As always, you will need your cameras, memory cards, fresh batteries, tripods, remote triggers or cable release, and a variety of lenses including wide, normal, and fisheye. Bring your telephoto lenses to get great shots of the city from the tallest floors. Also, be sure to bring a circular polarizing filter and lens hoods to help eliminate reflections when shooting through the glass windows.
The hotel parking entrance is available on the Northwest side just off Carnegie Way NW and there are other paid-parking decks available around the perimeter of the hotel.
The hotel does require that each member sign a photo release form stating you will not use the images captured for commercial purposes. I will be sending the form to each attending member before the meet up as well as further details.
If you have any questions beforehand, please email me at dean@deanstevensonphotography.com.
I look forward to seeing you there!
