Hardware Hacking with Android, Arduino & Titanium

  • August 13, 2014 · 6:30 PM

Abstract: The world of hardware hacking has been gaining popularity recently. With the advent of open-source hardware, there's been tremendous interest in hacking hardware again. In this session, we'll look at how to integrate the Arduino with Android to build a cheap, complete hardware hacking platform!

We'll go over the current open hardware scene first. Then we'll look at how to setup these two platforms. Of course, we'll write some code and deploy them onto the hardware. We'll use Titanium to write JavaScript to build an app that communicates with the Arduino.

Speaker: Pratik Patel is the CTO of Atlanta based TripLingo (http://www.triplingo.com/). He has also spoken at various conferences and participates in several local tech groups and startup groups. He's in the startup world now and hacks iOS, Android, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Rails, and ..... well everything except Perl.

Yep, there will be some Titanium in the mix. The latest release seems to be ok for me (on the mac)

Thus was a fresh install. When the updater for 3.3 runs, clicking the install button wont run the updates. Unfortunatly it wont let you past the splash screen. Very frustrating

    PARKING INFO:
Peachtree just south of 17th St – the alley between FedEx and the Marriott hotel. Take the first left into the lot and park on the “A level.” Once you arrive in the building – tell the front desk you’re going to Huge. They’ll direct you to elevators.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
