Advanced JavaScript for Mobile Dev

So you think you've picked up enough JavaScript to be dangerous, but feel like the whole prototypical language thing is still a mystery. In this session, we'll go from basic JavaScript to advanced JavaScript. We'll discuss and code modular JavaScript with CommonJS. We'll look into the details of a prototype language and discuss things like parasitic inheritance. We'll also look at JavaScript libraries that will help you get the most out of JavaScript - not jQuery, but a library like UnderscoreJS and SugarJS.

New to Mobile dev, second week using Titanium (still trying to get it up running) and first meetup. Coming from backend J2EE background, the JS presentation was an eye opener…thanks Pratik for such an excellent (humor filled) presentation. I really enjoyed it, it looks like a dynamic and interesting group… looking forward to the next meetup.

I had not seen the parking comment. When I asked the security lady in the lobby, I learned parking costs $10. Thankfully she waived it for me, but next time, the parking info better be in the main text.

Thanks Pratik for an excellent presentation on intricacies of JS. I am experienced in desktop and server side programming. I recently started self studying JS and was confused at some code examples I was seeing around. Your talk was very helpful.

In regards to Pratik's mention of the Little Schemer book, Douglas Crockford has a page where he talks about the book and has some notes on how to port the Scheme syntax into Javascript. The Little Javascripter:

Thanks Mike, I fixed the map link. Remember you can park at the back of Phipps mall for *free* and walk across Lenox road to 2 Alliance center!

FYI: Though the written address looks correct, the map within Meetup app is incorrectly showing location on Thompson Rd.
