Hi all-- I continue to be ill and will not be adding events in the future. I am not closing this group--if you wish to post events please feel free to do so. I will also add events that do not require my attendance. Most of this is lack of attendance on your part, and a lessening of desire to continue to put so much work into a meetup in which few people seem to care, especially as my health is not good. So, in other words, the dues are paid for the next year. I will keep the group open during that time. If there's something you want to do, just ask me. None of that has changed. But the amount of time that I spend here far exceeds my energy levels.
Further, the attendence policy will remain in effect. You are allowed a max of 3 no-shows. If you are a chronic no-show, and you have one more, you will be removed. We all work too hard for this type of nonsense. Hosts are discouraged and unwilling to post events. I don't blame them.
I will be going through and looking at the stats for the members. If you have not attended an event in 3 months, you will be removed. It looks really bad to see almost 300 members, all of these events, and few people are going. I asked all of you what you would like to do, those are the events posted. If you joined the group, asked for the events, and then never come, why did you bother? And why should you stay? This is like having 5,000 friends on some social network and you don't know anyone--yeah, it looks good to the public, but in essence it is stupid. I don't need my ego rubbed. All I want is a group that works. For you. That's what makes me feel good. Knowing that people are actually active and having a good time, whether I am healthy enough to participate or not.
I've done everything I know to do to provide a variety of great, free, or almost fee activities for all of you in every part of town. Exactly what more do you want?
