2014 Olympics

Atlanta Fly Fishing and Camping 2nd Annual Flympics

Here is an overview and I need your input. After reading this please vote if you would rather have it at Paces Mill and then fish for free afterwards (Admission is free but prices will double at the door) or at Frog Hollow, and fish the trophy stream for $60 per person after the event.

Here is a quick over view of the events;

Opening ceremonies-Clint Eastwood-The High Stick Drifter

(If he doesn't show up, we will still say we feel lucky)

Schedule of events;

Bob's Sled Event- We will be sitting on Bob's sled casting to targets as you drift by them.

Kind of like casting to fish, in the water, from a drift boat. But no fish, no water and

no drift boat.

(BTW- Does anyone in the group named Bob have a sled or hand truck I can

borrow to push you guys around on?)

The Luge-er- (L)-Don't take this competition lying down. It is harder than you think.

We are not doing Curling-I don't think it's a sport (But they probably don't think fly fishing is)

Alpine casting – Pile cast to a target.

Hockey- Shoot out past the goalie. (Fence target/fake goalie)

Cross Country Casting- Walking while false casting down a 100ft line.

Please practice this in advance, We don't need anyone getting hurt.

(Rub your tummy pat your head. Walk/chew gum. Drink and drive are all

good methods of trying to do 2 things at once)

Speed Sk-asting- fly in hand to 3 targets as fast as you can.

Slalom- Wiggle mend cast around cones.

So this gives you an idea of what I would like to put together. Please submit to me other ideas

and suggestions. The olympic committee is you.

Let me know what you think and we will try to schedule it for mid February on a Sunday.

Thanks,

Rene
