Multi Client Development with Spring

No application is an island and this is more obvious today than ever as applications extend their reach into people’s pockets, desktops, tablets, TVs, blueray players and cars. What’s a modern developer to do to support these many platforms? In this talk, join Josh Long to learn how Spring can extend your reach through (sometimes Spring Security OAuth-secured) RESTful services exposed through Spring MVC, HTML5 and client specific rendering thanks to Spring Mobile, and powerful, native support for Android with Spring Android.

Josh Long is the Spring developer advocate. Josh is the author of Apress’ Spring Recipes, 2nd Edition (http://www.apress.com/9781430224990), and Pro Spring Integration (http://www.apress.com/9781430233459), and a SpringSource committer and contributor. When he’s not hacking on code, he can be found at the local Java User Group or at the local coffee shop. Josh likes solutions that push the boundaries of the technologies that enable them. Meeting Details:

The meeting will begin at 6:30pm allowing members time to network, arrive and enjoy pizza. At 7pm, ASUG will give an introductory welcome, and will be shortly followed by the presentation. After the presentation we will be giving away some awesome schwag that was kindly donated to us by SpringSource. As always, everyone has the option to head downstairs to Aja for networking and drinks after the meeting.

Parking at the One Alliance Center is $10 max. If you wish to go to Aja after the meeting they will validate part of your parking. If parking is a problem, some members park at Phipps Plaza for free and walk over. ASUG does NOT validate parking.
