Friends, Players, ...Assembled Nerds. It has been many years since I've played D&D, and since that time I have watched, and listened to criticisms of 4th edition, and rumors of a D&DNext. But journey back some years if you will to the height of D&D, when 3.5edition was a new thing. To a time before Justin Bieber and Twitter were relevent topics, and the Disney company was at the apex of its renaissance.
Follow me into the land of Gallen-drin.
Gallen-drin is a large continent in the world of Arthuras, and the last continent to be discovered. Originally, Gallen-drin was meant to be a prisoner colony, a place where the most hardened, vile, and unfortunate of criminals were sent to colonize the wild lands. These criminals were supervised by a coalition of the other nations, ruthlessly treated these criminals until they were regarded as little more than slaves.
Under the guidance of a wrongfully convicted priest of Heironeous; Yurizkai Melgrade, the prisoners set a revolution, to usurp power from their wardens, in a bloody coup. Several weeks passed, and it was through sheer will and detrimination that the prisoners ousted their captors, and freed themselves from slavery. In recognition of Melgrade's leadership, selflessness, and perseverence; the prisoners decided to mold their lives after his example, and chose him to be Lord Priest of their new Theocratic Government; But not all was well.
With the bloodshed upon their grounds, a dark plot was being formulated, and when peace finally seemed to settle after an uneasy two and a half years, A dark cult unleashed a murderous Demigod, known as Plagirus, who quickly rended the Theocracy of Gallen-drin asunder. Yurizkai Melgrade, valiant though he was, too was cut down by this insatisable Demigod. While the warriors of Gallen-drin fought bravely and successfully against Plagirus, the losses were heavy, and Gallen-drin was dealt a crippling blow.
From the ashes of the kingdom, a man, who was not of the clergy stood out being one of Gallen-drin's war heroes. A foreigner banished from another continent of Arthuras rose to the challenge of Plagirus, and it was he who now assumes leadership and Kingship over this crippled nation. While he deals with the hardships of what has befallen his new Kingdom, evil still plots. Gallen-drin's military is in shambles, its economy is placed on the backs of the bruised, and often relies on its extorionist black markets, the people are afraid and in doubt of this foreigner warrior king despite his best efforts to help heal the land, and crime runs rampant. Meanwhile outside nations, tribes, and clans look on with hungry teeth.
What will your role in this saga be? Will you come to the aid of the new King, or will you try to deter and decay the land even more? Or... will you see this land under your iron grip, or else watch it burn around you...?
Welcome to Chronicles of Gallen-drin, a D&D 3.5/Pathfinder campaign that I've had in the works for a few months now, but I could never find anyone to play with. I'm looking for 4-6 people to play with, doesn't matter if you've been playing for years, or if this is your first experience, any and all are welcomed. I've got some deluxe character sheets that I can scan, and print, and a few books. I invite you all to bring your imaginations, bring your books, your dice, and maybe a few drinks/snacks (optional of course), and bring the fun!
