Our Meetup group started as "The Augusta Ron Paul 2008 Meetup Group" with the purpose of facilitating grassroots campaign organizing for Congressman Ron Paul's 2008 Presidential campaign.
After Dr. Paul suspended his Presidential campaign, he started an organization called "Campaign For Liberty", to continue the peaceful revolutionary movement that sparked as result of his presidential bid. An organization to promote the ideas that spread throughout his campaign, these fundamental American principles of: Individual Liberty, Constitutional Government, Sound Money, Free Markets, and a Non-Interventionist Foreign Policy (not to be confused with "isolationism" which is a complete different philosophy that we do not adhere to - we believe in Peace, Commerce, and Honest Friendship with ALL nations, but entangling alliances with none.).
This Meetup group, being originally made up of supporters of Ron Paul's Presidential campaign, decided to continue working with Congressman Paul for the same goals by adopting the mission of the "Campaign For Liberty" organization that Ron Paul helped launch http://www.campaignforliberty.com .
This Meetup group will help provide you with the networking and organizational tools to become actively involved in the "Campaign For Liberty" organization and it's many pursuits. As well as provide the opportunity of meeting and working with many other like minded individuals in your local area.
We are made up of many types of people from all walks of political life, conservatives, libertarians, constitutionalists, etc., but who all agree on the founding principles that made our nation great and we all believe in a strict adherence to the Constitution.
PLEASE, click on our "About Us" link in the left column for more information regarding Mission statements and our Principles.
If you join the group please let us know how you heard about us.
