What interests you in Lisp

Code as data and the profound enlightenment experience I had when I finally got it. It has made me a better programmer no matter what language I happen to be using.

Have you programmed in any Lisp based language before?

Kind of. I worked through the little schemer when I was in high school.

Strong typing or dynamic typing?

Dynamic.

Have you heard of Multi-methods?

Yes. Functional polymorphism for the win.

Relational, Object Oriented, Graph, Network, Hierarchical databases. Which is your favorite and why?

No favorite. I try to use the right storage for the problem at hand. Also I'm learning datomic which is a distributed database so it's not on the list there, but if it were I would say it's my personal favorite because of the modern design (it doesn't assume we have the same constraints in regards to memory, network speeds, number of machines, and processing power as we did in the mid 70s)

Introduction

I am a java developer by day and a Clojure hobbyist by night. I work at heb as a software developer. I am also the organizer of the San Antonio Meetup
