Welcome!

I find that we live in a culture that tends to isolate and disconnect. I started Austin Community Living to cultivate a sense of belonging in the midst of this. Please join me. Together we can learn, connect, and encourage each other as we journey deeper into the heart of community.

The world continues to grow in complexity day by day. Isolation and disconnection is the easy path. Living in and staying in community with the people around us is a challenge beyond all challenges.

As we move to re-orient our lives in pursuit of real community, we will undoubtedly face the paradox of relationships: that with love and belonging comes conflict and tension. There is tension here, because community asks us to let go of our own ego for the sake of the group. It is this tension that we must, together, learn to navigate and live with. It is through this tension that we journey to reach what is at the heart of human desire: belonging.

Sincerely,

Rigel Thurston
