WARNING: This activity can become very addictive! If you enjoy a challenge, like to hike, enjoy nature, want to learn new things, and explore history, then geocaching is for you! This is where YOU are the search engine which involves a high-tech treasure hunting game using a GPS. The basic idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share your experiences online and on this website. Some caches are virtual, where you learn about something significant about the area, some are micro, and others are very large. It is not a competition, but rather a group effort of like-minded people sharing awesome experiences. - places and things you can't imagine, even if you have lived in Austin your entire life. We are also community-minded and participate in CITO events (cache in - trash out). We have our own language and can be quite secretive (no MUGGLES allowed!). So get your GPS and lets have some fun (GPS not necessary to join - we will share!). Oh, and BTW - TFTC!
