I'd like to listen and learn, get less ignorant about coffee than I am now. A friend has a specialty coffee business in NYC and turned me on to the community of people who are really serious about coffee. He also just schooled me on the difference between medium roast, dark roast, and over-roasted. We're going to work together, offering coffee tours to his customers, visiting countries/farms where he buys his beans. For the purposes of the tour, I don't need to know anything about coffee; he's handling that part. But I'm interested for my own sake. Suddenly realizing there's a lot more behind my cup of coffee than I knew.
I'm a coffee fan, and as a tour operator I incorporate coffee into some of my trips. I've visited farms and learned a little about cultivation, but know nothing about roasting. I want to know more!
