Austin Liberty Coalition Message Board › TSA bills need your help

We are in position to make a significant stand against the unwieldy TSA bureaucracy, but it appears that the bills are being bottled up by the House Speaker.
HB 1937, which criminalizes TSA "groping", has been voted out of the House Transportation Committee, but is being held up in the calendar committee.
HB 1938, which bans the naked body scanners/cancer-causing radiation emitters, has the votes in the House Transportation Committee to be moved to the house floor and likely has a supermajority of votes on the floor to pass on its first reading. However, state capitol analysts opine that Committee Chairman Larry Phillips, who likely supports the bill, is being pressured by Joe Straus to keep it off the house floor.
If HB 1938 is not voted out of committee in the next 8 days it will wither on the vine.
You can help move things forward by emailing the state legislature using:
Or, if you have the time, you can call all the relevant house representatives on the list at:
Your efforts are greatly appreciated. Given the broad support that already exists in the house for these bills, I am certain the vast majority Texans (and Americans) will be grateful for the time you take to push these pieces of legislation over the top!
