We are comprised of and welcome all who enjoy dancing Salsa socially. Whether very beginner or intermediate, advanced, or professional -- dancers, instructors, venue owners, and salsa promoters are encouraged to join.

- People interested in learning to dance salsa and other Latin dances in an inclusive, fun, safe environment

Whether you already dance or you've never tried salsa before but want to learn what salsa dancing is all about in Austin, meet up with us! Let's get together, get out, and have some fun!

Our Meetup page and Salsa Nirvana Austin keep you tied in to what's on tap! Check for updates often Salsa Nirvana and its Google calendar; an excellent and more thorough resource for events around town than our Meetup calendar is. Visit both Salsa Nirvana and the Salsa Meetup Calendar often as new meetups and updates are posted without immediate email notification.

MEMBERS, PLEASE READ:

• Your Profile - A picture of yourself is helpful and preferred, as well as an introduction. Let us know a little something about you. Are you seeking a regular dance parther, what is your level? Also, set personal message board preference (individual email, digest, or none). To edit your intro, photo, and notification/email settings, the Profile and Account links are available at the top of the meetup page. You will get 2 notices for each event.
  
• RSVP - Your RSVP is important for planning purposes. Please include # of guests.
  
• Sign in - Signing in at the event Meetup table is crucial for our group. Please include # of guests also.
  
• Communicate with us - Salseros, we want to hear from you! Please let our coordinator know when, where and what she can do to plan something you WILL be likely to attend. Your feedback and ideas are MUCH appreciated! For example, would you attend something that allowed for more socializing first? Actually, would you really? Yes, no, indifferent? Other ideas? Thanks! Your suggestions help plan our meetups! Your feedback and ideas are welcome.
  
• Email settings - If you prefer to get NO email in your inbox, you can either edit your settings to receive very little mail, set up a filter on your inbox, or leave the group and just visit periodically to check the calendar.
  
• Unofficial Events - Some meetups are announcements for recommended events and will be stated as such. Yellow notes on the meetup calendar also highlight events of interest or that the organizer plans to attend (these are not official Meetups either).
  
• FAQs - How do I dress? What kind of shoes should I wear? What is dance etiquette? This and other burning FAQs answered.
  
• Vote in polls to shape future Meetups.
  
• Volunteer - Can't get enough? Become a Meetup Assistant Organizer and host Meetups at any venue around town. Or volunteer in various capacities at the events of your choice.
  
• Take photos - Take your camera to Meetups. Much appreciated if you post a few photos either on our Meetup or Facebook pages! Send feedback our way after Meetups as well.
  
• Contribute - Cash contrubutions towards meetup fees and other expenses associated with Meetup activities are welcome and help us throw events and host guest instructors. Or visit the Salsa Meetup contrubution Wish List for more ideas for contributions.
  
• Facebook - Help grow our group by adding the Meetup application to your profile page and/or by joining Austin Salsa Dance Meetup Facebook Group.
  
• On MySpace - Salsa Nirvana Austin MySpace Group.
