Case Study of Akka at Avention

The Evening's Topic

Thanks to Avention for volunteering to host this meetup at their offices (the usual Rackspace room is unavailable due to A/V upgrades). Clint Miller will be presenting on Akka.

We'll be going through a brief, high-level introduction to Akka. We'll talk about what an actor is, and then we'll look at Akka clusters, singletons, and routed services. We'll conclude with a short case study on how Avention uses Akka when loading data into Elasticsearch.
