Speed Friending - Sushi, Games, and Tons of Fun!!!

Details
Hey everyone!
We're planning our next Speed Friending event and it's going to be awesome! We're going to meet at a sushi restaurant, (sake, anyone?) have a blast meeting a ton of new people, and then head over to Sherlock's for games and drinks. This will be another high-quality event with limited seating, so you'll definitely want to get on the list now! Plus, we're offering a discounted rate to the first three people who RSVP! Tickets will be $15 in advance, $20 the week of, and $25 a few days before and at the door , so be sure to prepay early to get the biggest discount!
The agenda: We'll meet first at Mikado for Speed Friending, sushi and sake, and then go to Sherlocks Baker Street Pub (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=9012%20Research%20Blvd%2C%20Austin%2C%20TX) (9012 Research Blvd) for pool, beer, games, etc. It will definitely be a great night of meeting new people and having fun!
*(For those of you who won a free Speed Friending pass at one of our prior events, please note that I can only offer 5 free slots for this event and I will give them to the first five people who let me know they want to use their pass, so RSVP early!)
Check In : 6:30pm
Event Start : 7:15pm
Event End : 10:00pm
Our event will start promptly at the designated Event Start time, so please plan to arrive at the posted Check-In time.
** If you arrive after the Event Start time, we may not be able to put you into the event and will not be able to offer you a refund. Adding another person after the Event Start time disrupts the partner rotation and distracts everyone. This rule is in place to provide the highest quality experience for everyone who attends so the event goes smoothly. Thank you so much for your understanding.
How to find us: We will all be wearing nametags! Also, if you get lost or have a hard time finding us, feel free to give me a call. I will make sure you find your way.
Bring the following to the event: A pen and a 3x5 notecard with up to 7 questions already written on it. We will have some pens and notecards available for you at the event, so don’t worry if you forget to bring them, but please try to prepare your questions in advance. See details below for more information on questions.
**Our events are usually at venues that are 21 and up, so please remember to bring your ID!!
Event Details:
Events are most successful when we have a lot of people attending so our goal is to have around 30 people RSVP!! Help us make this a regular successful thing and help us fill up our spots by bringing your friends! If we do happen to cancel an event due to low turnout, any money will be refunded and we will simply try again next month!
Event space is first come, first served. Please sign up even if you see a waiting list. We promise to move you into reserved spots as soon as they become available.
**Pre-paying is highly encouraged. It helps the host and the venue create the best experience possible. We offer a no-risk pre-payment policy. You can pay online to reserve your seat and, as long as you email Matt or the event host at least 24 hours prior to the event, we will gladly give you a full refund if you can't make it. This is our no-risk offer to you and every member of Speed Friending Events.
The format:
At the beginning of the event, you will be seated with your first partner. You will each get time to ask and respond to the questions you previously wrote on your notecard. After you are both done responding to each other's questions, you will switch partners and repeat until you’ve met everyone!
Your Questions:
You get to ask whatever 7 questions you want. You don’t even have to stick to the questions you wrote down on your notecard. We only ask that you refrain from asking boring or typical questions. Use your imagination and ask any silly, fun, thought-provoking or ridiculous questions you can think up!
Example questions you are encouraged to ask your partner: If you were given a million dollars, what would you do with it? Would you rather eat pizza your entire life, or not be able to tell a lie for a year? What kind of comic book character best represents you? Would you rather have the ability to fly, or have the ability to breathe underwater? If you were a painting, what kind of painting would you be?
Example questions to avoid: What do you do for work? How long have you lived here? What brought you to this event? No boring questions!! (And just so you know, it’s rude to ask someone how old they are or how much money they make.)
The point of these questions is to create a fun icebreaker, no dull, one-sentence answer questions allowed. When you get seated with your partner, it is polite to introduce yourself by letting your partner know your name and finding out theirs.
** Sometimes you may not get a chance to meet everyone at the event (although we try our very best to make sure that you do!), but if there is someone you definitely want to meet, sit near them at the start of the event or tell your host and we’ll make it happen. We are here for you guys to make new friends and make sure everyone has a good time!
How Do I Dress?
The dress is casual. Usually, events will take place in the open area inside a bar. Afterwards, people are free to mingle at the bar and get drinks, exchange numbers, and continue having a great time!
LATE/NO-SHOW POLICY If you know you will be running late or cannot attend, please call or email to let your host know as soon as possible. You will receive a full refund if you cancel your RSVP at least 24 hours prior to the event. No refunds will be given with less than 24 hours’ notice.
If you have a pre-paid reservation, remember to tell your host you will not be attending and also Un-RSVP online. Those who are unable to do this will not be refunded and will be considered a 'no show.’ We strongly discourage any no shows. We spend many hours in advance preparing materials for the event and making arrangements with the venue based on expected attendance, so no shows negatively affect our ability to offer you great food and drink specials in the future. Please make every effort to let us know that you won’t be attending in advance. Thank you.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. I’m excited to see you at Speed Friending and I know you’ll have a great time at your event!
Thanks,
Heather
