Christine E. Marquette has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dietetics with a major in Nutrition from the University of Texas. She is licensed by the State of Texas (LD) and is also a registered dietitian (RD - national certification) through the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Christine is also a certified Health Fitness Specialist (HFS) through theAmerican College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). In addition, she has an advanced certification in Food Sensitivities as a Certified LEAP Therapist (CLT), has over 40 hours of additional training in the management of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, and has been trained in usingintrinsic coaching® methodology.

Christine is an avid runner, having completed over 6 marathons and dozens of 5Ks, 10Ks, half marathons, and other distance races; and has been an assistant coach with Austin Fit marathon training program for over three years. She is also a sprint distance triathlete.

Her first few years working as a “new dietitian,” Christine consulted in nursing homes and assisted living facilities, as well as provided medical nutrition therapy for a variety of conditions to low income patients in an outpatient clinic setting. Christine also spent a few years working at the Capital Area Food Bank, where she developed and helped launch their nutrition education program. Christine has since spent the majority of her career in nutrition providing medical nutrition therapy to clients one on one and in group classes for both the City of Austin’s community health care centers and the Austin Regional Clinic.

Join us in 2012 for a gathering of like-minded individuals centered around health and wellness. We will meet TWICE Monthly (2 & 4th Wednesday unless otherwise specified) at Beets Cafe, downtown Austin. Please purchase some delicious vegan/raw food from the Cafe to cover or room cost.

Our members are an integrative part of the growing healing community in South Austin including but not limited to: MDs, RNs, PTs, Dentists, Naturopaths, Osteopaths, Chiropractors, Massage Therapists, Acupuncturists, Nutritionists, Doulas, Midwives, Fitness trainers, dance and Zumba instructors, Pilates Instructors, Feldinkras Practitioners, Vocal Coaches, Counselors, Psychotherapists, Psychologists, Energy Healers, Alphabioticists and those who sell health and wellness products, etc.

We welcome professionals and students alike (Free for students). Come learn about how to serve our community with broader focus and effectiveness. We sincerely desire to build professional, long-lasting relationships for the benefit of our business and clientele.

Format is conducted as follows:

11:45-12:00 Open Meet and Mingle

12:00-12:15 Welcome and Introductory Announcements

12:15-12:45 Table Topic discussion or Presentation on a health subject

12:45-12:55 Follow up questions Volunteer for 'Ask the Practitioner' to answer questions from group

12:55-1:00 Closing, thank yous, and final announcements

DO's

  • DO bring visitors to grow the group
  • DO bring plenty of business cards
  • DO have fun! (Keep coming, it works!)
  • DO come early & stay late. These are the best parts of the meeting

DON'Ts

  • DON'T speak badly about your "competition." Tell us about you.
  • DON'T view Austin Wellspring as a place to sell. Focus on building relationships.
  • DON'T put cards or flyers at every seat, we'll have a designated spot for these item

Parking is FREE in garage, or you can pay per hour along the street

*$5 fee for room rental and speakers until you reach $20, at which point you are considered a member.

    I just clicked on the map for Beets Cafe and it shows up as a place called Sushi Zushi?

      Sushi sushi is in the same shopping center. Beets is a little further east at the opposite end of the center.
