This bar may not be new to this group, but it's new to me! I spotted it as I was strolling 6th St. during the Pecan St. Festival earlier this month. It's in such a charming little building with the main entrance at street level and the patio in the lower level, right by the water (Waller Creek). Very cool atmosphere to say the least, AND it recently made Food and Wine Magazine's list of America's Best Beer Gardens.

Here's a synopsis from Localeur.com:

"When Easy Tiger opened up last year, it brought a refreshing breeze of beer garden to the cluster of douchebaggery and shot bars that is Sixth Street. More than just a “beer bar,” this place offers spirits as well, including a long list of reserve whiskeys. Located just west of the highway, Easy Tiger’s rotating selection of beers is impressive and well-chosen. Plus this spot offers tasty baked treats like big pretzels paired with “homemade beer cheese.” (I still don’t quite understand it, but I know I want more of it.) You enter into the street level bakery before descending to the downstairs pub. The outdoor seating area is also lowered from the Sixth Street nonsense and overlooks Waller Creek. Another nice touch at Easy Tiger – enjoy your pint with a game of ping-pong near the waters’ edge."

So, come explore this beer garden with us on Friday, June 21st!
