At the root of it all, we all want to feel great about our selves, our bodies, and our lives.

Sadly, modern culture has many of us caught up in a Matrix like web that instills fear and insecurity, especially about our bodies.

I call this the Matrix because the fear and insecurity are not based on anything that’s real—it’s based on lies and illusions.

The Matrix informs us that we are not perfect enough, worthy enough, beautiful enough to ever be, have or trust our happiness.

It keeps the brilliant light of who and what each of us is hidden away in a fugue of self doubt, limitation and judgment.

Who decides what size or shape of a body, a nose, or breasts are most attractive?

Who perpetuates these points of view?

The truth is each of us does when we buy into any part of it.

What would it be like to be free of the Matrix?

What would it be like—not just for us as individuals, but for the world as a whole?

Yesterday I was very much taken by this passage in Neil Gaiman’s book, Anansi Boys:

“…People take on the shapes of the songs and stories that surround them, especially if they don’t have their own song. And in Tiger times all the songs were dark. They began in tears, and they’d end in blood, and they were the only stories that the people of this world knew.”

What might it be like if we all joined together to change the songs and the stories with which we are surrounded?

How much more energy and enthusiasm might we have to spend on our real hopes, dreams and aspirations.

How much brighter might the world be if we each wrote our own stories, sang our own songs, and let our true selves shine through?

For some that sounds inspiring.

For others it’s frightening.

But it doesn’t have to be scary.

It doesn’t have to be hard.

It all begins with a few simple shifts.

I invite you to join me Saturday for “What Do I Do Now?”

In this two hour workshop I provide guidance, support and tools to start the shifts—to begin to move beyond the Matrix & let the true you shine through.

Participants will walk away with solid steps to take, as well as tools to use, to begin letting the lights of their true selves shine through.

With best wishes and deep caring, I look forward to seeing you on the light side,

Theresa
