Hello Friends! The purpose of this group is to experience Presence and to meet others who are interested in studying and discussing the essential words of spiritual teachers. The Austin Eckhart Tolle Presence Group has been meeting weekly since 2008 to study the teachings of Eckhart Tolle.

Eckhart Tolle is a spiritual teacher and author who was born in Germany and educated at the Universities of London and Cambridge. He is the author of the #1 New York Times bestseller, The Power of Now and the highly acclaimed follow-up A New Earth, which are widely regarded as two of the most influential spiritual books of our time. Eckhart’s profound, yet simple teachings have already helped countless people throughout the world find inner peace and greater fulfillment in their lives.

If you're new to our group, here's a few details on how our meetups function.

  • Meetups are Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 every week in Room 13 of First Unitarian Universalist Church.
  • Each week, we start with five to ten minutes of silent meditation.
  • Please read the chapter for the week before arriving. We'll share our favorite passages from the chapter, answer questions and have open discussion.
  • Once a month we watch a video recorded lecture of Eckhart Tolle instead of book discussion. These video recordings are announced in the meetup announcement.
  • A $5 donation is requested in order to support the church.

Hope to see you there!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
