Lily & Kirk,
You two, and Paul and your crew too, are the best!
ASS will survive, I will make sure of that.
Especially with the help of people of ya’ll’s caliber and integrity. From all of us who have planned a HUNT before, we know the absolute HELL you have endured – and with a smile on your face. And all ya’ll deserve all of the kudos you continue to receive. I was sweating bullets praying that the burgees would arrive on time. They did. There are SO MANY little things these guys have done that they will never talk about nor mention that went into this Magnificent Party that are way beyond their “duty” that will never be repaid.
If Kirk & Lily are “a little short” let us set up a “tip” jar and drop Ten bucks in the jar.
Is that enough????
No one should endure this scale of Party Planning and and NOT come out ahead. This was way worst than Bride Zilla!
In my postings yesterday, I noted that we had the wild rain storm during what should have been the Hunt breakfast time (too bad...we had excellent stuff for more great breakfast tacos from Bill's kitchen!). And the fallout from that rain/wind was that two easy ups were damaged (and at least one of those two, irreparably so...I'm not sure if a replacement part will fix the other or not). That wasn't fun news to convey, especially since I knew we'd gone a bit over budget, with unanticipated expenses like $120 in the ice I paid for alone (lots of others bought it too), some gasoline expenses, and the parking fee payment to the Ranger when some of you forgot to bring cash/check to pay (as instructed). There are just a lot of little odds and ends that add up to a lot of money when working with a very limited budget. And I didn't want anyone to be disappointed or bear the burden of the Hunt, even if it was an act of nature that caused it.
The good news is, though, that since the hats were late and I had been guaranteed of their timely arrival, I was able today to get the full cost for them credited to us. Also, since we didn't finish the raffle on Saturday, we still have the $50 gift certificate for Academy Sports. So, between those two things and even with the deficit, we should hopefully be able to not only compensate for the Easy Ups, but also still be able to pay Greg the full $145 as promised for the Meet Up dues for the year.
So perhaps our patience with the delayed hats and delayed Raffle conclusion has allowed us to meet all of our obligations and still have a darn good time in the process. I'll see you tomorrow night at the meeting with the hats and other raffle items (and whatever items to return fit in the car, if you're planning to attend).
