It's been an exciting year for our group. We've experienced considerable growth, to the point that we now have 5 regular meetings a month (last year it was 2!) In an effort to increase the activity of our community, we've also begun a new Facebook page, which can be found here. Please stop by if you are a Facebook user and give us a "like." By liking our page, you can show your support for the group, keep in touch with other local writers, and find out about events and happenings in the local literary community.
Also, do keep in mind that NaNoWriMo begins next week! National Novel Writing Month is an event held annually that challenges writers to compose a novel of 50,000 words or more in the month of November. Many of our members participate and it can be a great writing exercise if you're up for it. If you do decide to give it a try, please let us know on our Meetup or Facebook pages.
We do have one more special event planned before the year ends. We will be holding a special reading event on December 15th, at our normal North Austin location (Genuine Joe.) This will be a great chance for more of our group to get together than the normal critique discussions allow. We're hoping that many of you will come out to see other group members read, or even to share some of your work yourself! If you'd like more information or are interested in participating, please reply to this email to let me (Tim) know.
Thank you for being part of our little group, and we look forward to seeing all of your writing in the coming months!
