Brisbane OpenStack Meetup - OpenStack 3rd Birthday Celebration

  • Jul 19, 2013 · 6:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Brisbane OpenStackers, come celebrate!

We'll return Port Office hotel, where it all began, to talk about how quickly they (open source IAAS projects) grow up. About how it seems like only yesterday that nova-network was the way we'd all be doing networking. And other such things.

No presentations, but maybe a speech cobbled together from OpenStack foundation collateral and Robert Frost. Be prepared to make new friends, and help build the community by participating.

Please RSVP ASAP as space (and drinks) are limited to first in, best dressed.

This event is graciously sponsored by Red Hat, and the Open Stack foundation.

We are out front near the entrance to the fix restaurant. Look for red hat signage.

A question: In windows 8.1 skydrive (not a user) does this thing where it puts symlinks down in the local filesystem, and when the file is requested it will seamlessly download it locally
~ like the Browser does with it's cache, but more permanent. Symlinks can work across a network share, and on linux there's a cool project called libferris which has implemented the posix filesystem api for various other backends (web apis, xml, datatbases, etc). But do we have that in windows, http symlinks that will download on demand. That would solve my syncing problem (especially if some signature/verification could be built into that step). I will be doing some intensive googling tomorrow. But why should google know everything.

Good news. The first 20 or so people to arrive get a special prize. But only if you say "I'm here for the birthday party."
