What we’re about
Ever wanted to do something out of your comfort zone and didn't want to wait for friends to make a decision to join up? Awesome Things to do was formed for that reason in mind while saving some cash. Organizers look at deals offered by discount websites and turn them into events so you don't have to go at it alone and often it's an even better deal when we have a group rate. We're fun, well-organized, and aren't afraid to speak up to vendors who do not hold up to their end of the deal. Most of all, we're sociable. Damn it, we are sociable.
We also join weekly party like Silent Disco's. What is a Silent Disco or Quiet Clubbing? Each person receives a pair of wireless headphones. This allows you to adjust the volume and choose between up to three DJs by flicking a switch.
Do you like listening to: Top40, Trance, Hip-Hop, Reggae, Latin, Salsa, merengue, Bachata, Rap, Electronic, Line Dancing, 80's, 90's, and everything else? Then Quiet Clubbing is for you...
Don't worry about coming out alone, that's what most people do... Quiet Clubbing is very SOCIAL! You need to experience it to understand!

This trip is being organized by our main group www.newyorksocialnetwork.com. The number of RSVPs on THIS MeetUp only represent a portion of those ACTUALLY attending. DO NOT RSVP HERE GO TO THE MAIN GROUP
The New Orleans Heritage Music Festival (formerly known as Jazzfest) is a well organized multi-day outdoor music festival with 10 different stages spread out over 144 several acres that features top names and new musicians with all types of musical styles. Pop, Rock, Jazz, R&B, Gospel, Blues, Reggae, Swing and more! It is a calmer, safer and more sophisticated way to experience New Orleans than Mardi Gras. This will be our 16th year of bringing groups down and a great way to experience both the touristy and not so touristy attractions that the area has to offer. You’ll have an NYSN host as your guide and your activities planner for the weekend which will feature great music, fun activities and the most amazing food! Checkout this special video about the trip
Here is how it works:
-We have reserved a block of 9 rooms at The French Market Inn on Decatur Street which is in the famous French Quarter and close to everything! Rooms will be shared (2 per room) IF YOU WISH TO HAVE A SHARED ROOM AS A SINGLE YOU MAY PAY THE SINGLE SUPPLEMENT. We will pair you with someone compatible if sharing. This is a very cool hotel with beautiful clean rooms, authentic New Orleans atmosphere, modern amenities, a pool, gas burning lamps outside and an awesome staff. (You don’t spend a lot of time in the room anyway).
-There will be an NYSN host with you for the entire trip to help you get the best out of your trip.
-You will need to arrange your own airfare to New Orleans. All we ask is that you arrive some time between 3pm and 8pm on Friday. The concerts run from noon til 7pm on Saturday and Sunday so you should plan to depart on Monday. There is no discount if you arrive or depart earlier or later.
-We will arrange for a place to meet the group on Friday for drinks then we will head to a local restaurant for dinner and go over what we will be doing for the weekend.
-Each day we will designate activities and meeting places so that you can join the group for breakfast, lunch, the concerts, dinners and other activities. You may also use some time to explore on your own.
Can I come alone? Yes 99% of those attending will likely come on their own.
Ages attending: Mid 30s-60
What to wear: Dress for the weather. It is normally in the 80’s during the day. Shorts, t-shirts, sneakers are pretty much all you will need all weekend. Maybe something a little nice for the evenings. But still casual.
What is included? $850 (shared) $1,250 (single) includes 3 nights, 2 days concert tickets, a private tour of the French Quarter. Trip host expenses. All taxes and tips.
Not included: all meals, transportation to and from airport.
What is there to do besides the concerts: The are a ton of things you can do while you are there. There are hundreds of different tours (besides the one we will take), casino, river tours, cool shops and of course amazing music.
Space is limited to 16 people. Payment in full is due upon registration. No refunds after February 1st.
Is this a singles trip? Not really but I would imagine that most coming are single. Come for the experience first especially with someone who knows his way around.
How do I get there? You will need to arrange your own airfare. Some people are coming in earlier or leaving later so they can explore more. The airfares tend to be lower that way. If you do come early or leave late I can suggest things to do and cheaper places to stay. BTW plan to take a flight where you will have to change planes. There are very few direct flights to New Orleans.
Is $850 (Shared)/ $1,250(Single) is that expensive? For a festival weekend in New Orleans, NO. They jack up the prices of the hotels for festival weekends. Our hotel is right in the French Quarter so it is within walking distance to everything except the festival which is a short cab ride away. You want to be as close to the French Quarter as possible for many reasons. The little extra you pay helps cover part of my trip so I can be there to make your trip better!

Hey there, all you Jewish singles in NYC and the surrounding areas! We've got some exciting news for you that you definitely don't want to miss. Get ready for our Spring Fling Mingle in NYC. A
Now, let's talk about all the fun stuff you can expect at this event. To start off, we've reserved a private area exclusively for our group, so you'll have a comfortable space to socialize and meet new people. We've also planned some fantastic ice breaker games to help everyone break the ice and get mingling. These games are designed to bring out the fun side of everyone and make those meaningful connections happen.
Oh, and we've made sure to have a great selection of party music playing at a sensible noise level. That way, you can chat and enjoy the ambiance without straining your eardrums. But hold on, there's more! Throughout the night, we'll be hosting prize giveaways, adding an extra element of excitement to the event. Who doesn't love a chance to win something awesome?
Now, it's important to note that we do have a minimum purchase requirement of at least one item, whether it's food or a drink. This helps us maintain a fantastic venue and provide a great experience for everyone attending.
Just to clarify, this event is open to all Jewish singles ages 20s and 30s ( a few year grace is fine) . We don't have any specific gender balance or divisions based on levels of Jewish observance for this particular event. However, if you're looking for an age-specific event, we highly recommend checking out our Jewish NYC Speed Dating events. In fact, our last one was a huge hit with 125 people registering!
