Main Session: Scripting Data Integration using the Azure SSIS Feature Pack and BIML.

Abstract: In this session we will go through the pattern required to migrate workloads to Azure. Firstly I’ll introduce you to Biml (Business Intelligence Markup Language) and how you could use you application development skills to create data integration tasks using SSIS. This session will be a live BimlScript demonstration with hardly any slides and demonstrate how to create Azure Storage and hook up the all the components on premise and on Azure to ensure the minimal amount of data transfer. Think of Biml as the PowerShell version of SSIS.

About Peter: Peter Avenant is the Director of Technology at Varigence Australia, an SSIS Developer, Trainer and Consultant, and SQL Server data warehouse specialist. Prior to joining Varigence, Peter was an early adopter of Biml and has given numerous community talks and training sessions on Biml in Australia and New Zealand. He has been working with SQL Server for over a decade, focusing primarily in ETL/SSIS, database development, reporting, and data quality.
