Welcome Recreational Walkers!

Surf, Sun, excercise and new friends what could be better. Every month during the summer we'll set a nice pace at one of our L.I. board walks. We'll walk, talk and maybe stop for a snack along the way. You'll make some new friends along the way too. These walks usually take place on Saturdays & Sundays and will be 2 to 5 miles long. Nothing too serious, just enough to set up the remainder of your day. Our walks are not limited to Boardwalks. We walk parks, preserves, arboretums and even interesting old villages and towns. So join up and enjoy a good walk with your new best friends. Last year we had a Holiday City Walk which was memorable largely because of the crowded chaotic streets and the inability to find our attending members in the hoards of window gazers and Christmas tree oglers. This year, to hopefully avoid the crowds we’ll have an Autumn City Walk. This walk will take us up Park Ave. and into Grand Central Terminal where we’ll be able to discreetly take pictures of this famous transportation Mecca. Read more

  If anyone lives near a train station in Queens (the eastern-most is Little Neck I think)--on the weekends there are special train tickets called city passes which are cheaper, but only good for travel...
