Every year our members ask if we can do a trip to Scotland but we rarely can because it is too far to go just for a weekend. So here is the solution - let's go for a whole week!

The Scottish Highlands offer the best of Britain's upland scenery and cannot be beaten for mountain adventure. It is here that we find the highest, most rugged and remote mountains and there is no better place to base ourselves than between Ben Nevis and Glen Coe.

We have managed to secure some quality accommodation in a quiet and secluded hamlet just a few miles from the highest mountain in Britain - Ben Nevis! Our lodge is wonderfully set in its own private, wooded grounds and the site enjoys superb panoramic views overlooking Loch Linnhe and Ardgour Mountains. From the doorstep we can take walks in Glenrigh Forest, reaching the impressive Inchree Waterfalls which drop over 100 meters in a series of steps, or take an evening stroll along the shoreline to marvel at the sunsets which occur here.

It is especially good that we have managed to arrange to visit the Scottish mountains in June, at the absolute best time of year when the days are wonderfully long. Any earlier and the adventurous upland hikes of the Ben Nevis and Glen Coe mountain ranges are likely to still be dangerously clad in snow, while any later and we will be bothered by midges (tiny biting flies) which can hatch out and swarm in July and August.
