libvirt ( http://www.libvirt.org ) is an API for controlling virtual machines in different hypervisor environments such as QEMU, KVM, and Xen. libvirt has many language bindings, including C, Java, Python, and Ruby. This library is very popular in automation environments where it is necessary to control many virtual machines. In the past 6 months, libvirt has been extended with initial support for the bhyve hypervisor which is in FreeBSD 10.
This presentation will cover step-by-step how you can set up libvirt on your FreeBSD 10 machine to control bhyve VM's.
