Hi Guys,

OK, so you're wondering, what is a "Tied House".  Glad you asked and here's the answer.  During the Industrial Revolution, a system of tied houses & free houses emerged in England. A free house was owned privately & allowed to sell any type of beer. This of your typical neighborhood pub as a free house. A tied house, on the other hand, was a pub owned by a brewery & allowed only to sell beer manufactured by that one brewery. Think of the pub being tied to its brand. The number of tied houses owned by a brewery vary from one to the 9,800 that Bass owns today. "The Tied House" where we will be hanging out was opened in Downtown Mountain View in January 1988. Over two decades later they continue to perfect their award winning beer.

So ... with that little bit of history as a background ... The Tied House is a great microbrewery located about a block and a half off Castro St. in Mountain View.  It has great beer, food, and atmosphere and is perfect for a bunch of guys to get together and hang out while enjoying all three while socializing.

Note that they have Half Pints for only $1.00 from 8:00pm until 10:00pm on the night of the event.  I'll start the event at 6:00pm but feel free to stop by anytime.  The location is close to the CalTrans Train station as well so you can walk to it from there easily.

Here is a link to their website where you can view the beer selections as well as dinner menu:

Feel free to bring along your other guy friends who may be interested in joining the group.
