Burlingame Drum Circle

The Heriz Rug Store is an interesting location for a drum circle. It's a big space full of Persian rugs of all sizes and shapes hanging from racks and organized in piles. Ali Heriz, the owner, is very supportive. He has had circles at this location in the past and requests adults only please. All drumming levels welcome, but this event will be geared to strong intermediate, advanced, and expert drummers.

There is parking on the street and plenty of room for a big group of people. We'll have lots of free and open drumming with a few guided activities as well.

Chairs are available, but if you have a favorite chair or stool, OK to bring it.

We had only 5 drummers from our group, about 5 from the San Mateo Drum Circle, and another 7 with no affiliation, for a total of 17. It was a good group with a wide range of experience levels. We dished up some nice grooves until about 9:30pm, then thanked Ali for having us in his store, and then left. Six of us stopped into a local Mexican restaurant for beverages and chips before going home.

Last time, Ali introduced some of us to a fabulous mediterranean rest. (casual) up the street (2 blocks from the store).... I plan to have dinner there before drums. The baklava was the best! So was dinner!
problem is I don't remember the name....
Call me if interested: [masked]-8540. I can give walking directions. Best to park near the rug store.
