Lately we've been victims of our own success. Owing to very high turnout at recent meetings, we've had to close the group temporarily to new membership applications. However we'll be accepting new members again in early 2015 so please try us then.
Thanks for your patience.
Writers In Barcelona is an English-speaking creative writing group, aimed at motivating and encouraging writers of novels, short stories and plays. We've been going, under one guise or another, for more than ten years. We don't just meet up to discuss writing - we also organise the publication of anthologies of our work, social events and excursions.
We're looking for intelligent, creative, and cultured people to join. Ideally you'll be fairly serious about your writing. Members include published authors, professional writers and keen amateurs. We don't cover areas such as blogging or travel memoirs.
The group is slightly over subscribed at present and though we are accepting new members we may well ask for a sample of your work. If you're not a native English speaker, you'll need a very advanced level of English and will need to provide a sample. The group is not suitable for first-time writers.
We meet every Thursday, material to be discussed is circulated in advance, and we aim to provide constructive and helpful feedback to the authors concerned.
If you'd like to join, please click "join this group" and answer the questions when prompted. An administrator will then approve your membership and you'll receive all the details.
BEFORE JOINING, PLEASE READ OUR FAQ, which can be found by clicking the "pages" button (top left-hand corner). This will give more information about whether this group is right for you.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
