"Newton In Love"
written and performed by Carey Harrison
"Newton In Love" is a one-man play commissioned by the BBC, part of a series called "Harrison's Bigwigs." Each one is a dramatic portrait of a celebrated 17th or 18th century figure. "Newton In Love" presents Sir Isaac Newton in the throes of his notorious nervous breakdown: his dark night of the soul.
Carey Harrison has written some 40 radio dramas, 36 stage plays, 16 novels and over a hundred plays for television, including 17 hours of Masterpiece Theater. He is the son of stage and screen actors Sir Rex Harrison and Lilli Palmer. He lives in Woodstock and is artistic director of the Woodstock Players who are in the midst of mounting their production of "Midget in a Catsuit Reciting Spinoza" which opens June 17 for two weeks at Byrdcliffe Theatre in Woodstock.
