Tell us what brought you to the world of skepticism, agnosticism or atheism?

I was raised as a Roman Catholic and I attended an elementary school that was also Roman Catholic. I, however, was born a skeptic. I asked many questions about the religion I was supposed to follow so I could understand it better and get rid of my doubts. Instead I got replies that didn't answer my questions and I felt insulted by some of the replies. They were typically evasive and not well thought out. By the time I got to JHS, I was really starting to doubt my religion. By HS I was searching for answers of my own. Paralleling all of this was that I was member of the BSA. Their stance on atheists and gays in the 80's were too much for me to accept. I could not accept such hate. So I left my church, my BSA, my parish, and while it was scary to do so, it was the best decision for me. I never regretted it.

Tell us if you are and atheist, agnositc, or a believer in religion.

I am an atheist, a secular humanist to be more correct.
